BACK TO THE FUTURE FOR ACTIV
After a period of outsourced event management, City to Surf owner, Activ Foundation, has taken back the reigns and resumed responsibility for organising the iconic WA event.
Activ established the City to Surf as a community fundraising event in 1975, with its inaugural event attracting just over 500 people. Forty years later, the Chevron City to Surf for Activ became the second largest officially timed race in the Southern Hemisphere with over 48,121 participants and many thousand more volunteers, spectators and supporters taking part. Today, it has cemented it place as one of the world’s largest and longest running ‘fun runs’ and remains WA’s only mass participation event in which all profits go to support charity. Activ is Western Australia’s largest disability service provider whose purpose is to support people living with disability to achieve their goals, overcome challenges and live the life they want. The Chevron City to Surf for Activ helps facilitate that purpose by providing both participation opportunities and charitable funding.
