4km Distance Event

The 4km events are conducted in Albany, Busselton, Geraldton, Karratha and Perth.

The Perth 4km starts at 7:40am at McLean Park Floreat and finishes at City Beach oval.

Entry is open to all ages and abilities to run, walk and roll. Adult registration is $45 and includes an event shirt. Child registration under age 16 is $24. Children in prams are free, but if they walk part of the course they must be registered as child participants.

Postal registration closes on 25 July. Online registration closes at 11pm, 23 August. You can register in person at the Race Bib Collection Expo at Lords Recreation Centre in Subiaco on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 August.

Public transport and shuttle buses are the easiest ways to get to and from the Perth event. Free public transport is included in your registration entry, just show your Race Bib to travel on any Transperth service to and from the Perth event.

12km Distance Event

The Perth 12km starts at 8:40am on St Georges Tce in the CBD and finishes at City Beach oval.

Entry is open to all ages and abilities. Adult registration is $55 and includes an event shirt. Child registration under age 16 is $24. Children in prams are free, but if they walk part of the course they must be registered as child participants.

Postal registration closes on 25 July. Online registration closes at 11pm, 23 August. You can register in person at the Race Bib Collection Expo at Lords Recreation Centre in Subiaco on Friday 24 and Saturday 25 August.

•   The first City to Surf was won by Tim Walsh in 1975 in 38:06. Two years later he won again and beat his time by 2 secs.
•   The 12km record was set in 2006 by Brett Cartright in 35:25 and it still stands today.
•   The Women’s 12km record was broken in 2017 by two-time Olympian Eloise Wellings. Her time of 40:14, was just one second faster than the previous record set in 2010 by Lisa Weightman.
