Brant made history as the first above-knee amputee to conquer the challenging Ironman Triathlon in Australia and has also seen success in an impressive list of para-triathlon World Series events.
He debuted the sport of Triathlon at the 2016 Paralympic Games in Rio, saying a big part of that journey was inspiring others to do things they didn’t think were possible.
“Disability has been a big part of my life, so part of my story is being an ambassador for people with disability and showing the world that we can do incredible things with the right mindset.”
Brant now works as a keynote speaker and mentor, inspiring and motivating clients all over the world.
He is enthusiastic about getting people involved in community events like the Chevron City to Surf for Activ, from first time runners to families, to athletes. He says everyone’s goals are different for the event but the first step to reaching that goal is signing up and getting started with training and fundraising.
He is planning to take to the 4km course this year with his family and is encouraging people to join them for a fun-filled day.
“My wife and two kids will join me on the 4k course and have a lot of fun doing the event together,” Brant says.
“I really want to bring the event to the attention of my friends from communities I’ve been involved with through disabled sports. I want as many of those guys, whether they have physical or intellectual disabilities, to be part of this year’s Chevron City to Surf for Activ!”
