EVENT QUESTIONS
What are the dates of the 2026 event?
The Perth event will be held on Sunday 30 August, while the Karratha event is on Sunday 26 July.
What does my registration fee cover?
Your registration fee includes:
– Branded Event T-shirt
– Bib + Timing Device
– Finisher’s Medal
– Finisher’s Certificate
– On-course Entertainment
– Closed Roads for Participant Safety
– Aid Stations On-course (with water, electrolytes, toilets, and first aid)
– Medical Support/Assistance

What are the course options?
You can sign-up for our 4km or 12km walk, run or roll with both options suitable for people of all ages and abilities.
Can’t join us in person? Register to take part in our Virtual event.
REGISTRATION QUESTIONS
How can I register to take part?
You can register online for the Perth and the Karratha event. Can’t join us in person? Register to take part in our Virtual event.
Online registrations are open until 12:00pm Saturday 29 August for Perth and 12:00pm Saturday 25 July for Karratha. However, you can register in-person at Bib Collection.
What does it cost to register?
The full price entry fee for the 4km is $85 and the 12km is $95. However, you can save simply by registering early. You can view the pricing table on the Registration Page.
Can I register on the morning of the event?
Unfortunately, we will not be accepting on-the-day registrations in Perth or Karratha. As such, we recommend that you sign-up online in advance to ensure that you secure your spot!
Can I swap courses once I’ve signed up?
Yes, you will be able to upgrade from the 4km course to the 12km course and also downgrade from the 12km course to the 4km course.
Simply visit the Race Roster registration page and click on the Transfer button to do through the process.
*Please note that additional fees will apply when upgrading. The additional fee to upgrade is the current difference in price between the 4km and the 12km.
Can I transfer my registration to another person?
You can transfer your registration across to another person by contacting us at hello@perthcitytosurf.com.au and providing the email address of the individual you’d like to transfer it to.
Can I get a refund?
As per the 2026 Chevron City to Surf for genU waiver, refunds are not available for registration fees.
I think I am registered but can’t find my confirmation email?
If you are unsure if you are registered for the 2026 Chevron City to Surf for genU please contact the team via email at hello@perthcitytosurf.com.au and we will assist.
What are the available start groups for the 12km and the estimated time to complete them?
Black | Seeded (Validation Required): Under 48mins (male)/55mins (female)
Blue | Run Wave 1: Under 1hr 10mins
Pink | Run Wave 2: 1hr 10mins to 1hr 25mins
Light Green | Run Wave 3: 1hr 25mins to 1hr 40mins
Yellow | Run Wave 4: 1hr 40mins to 2hrs
Grey | Walk Wave 5: Walk, Families and Prams
What are the available start groups for the 4km and the estimated time to complete them?
Black | (Validation Required): Under 16mins
Dark Green | Run Wave 1: Under 25mins
Red | Run Wave 2: 25mins to 35mins
Orange | Run/Walk Wave 3: Over 35mins
Teal | Walk Wave 4: Walk, Families, and Prams
Purple | Wheelchair Wave: Assisted and Unassisted
I want to jog, do I select the running or walking waves?
Please select the wave in which you feel fits best based on the finishing time for that wave.
Do I have to run or walk the entire course?
You are welcome to either walk, run or roll. There is no set way you need to finish the course.
Can I change my entrant details?
If you log into your Race Roster account and visit your dashboard, you will be able to update your registration as necessary. Please note some details cannot be changed, please contact the team at hello@perthcitytosurf.com.au for further assistance.
Do children in prams have to be registered?
All children must be registered. For safety reasons, please note that participants pushing prams must select the Families and Prams category for both the 4km and 12km distances.
How old does my child need to be to run on their own?
Children under 16 must be accompanied by an adult at all times throughout the course.
I can no longer participate in person; can I change to the virtual event?
We are sorry to hear you can’t participate in person, but we’d be happy to facilitate a swap to the Virtual event. Please email us at hello@perthcitytosurf.com.au and we will sort it out for you.
I am now unable to participate, what do I do?
We’re sorry to hear that you’re unable to participate in the 2026 Chevron City to Surf for genU. Please contact the team at hello@perthcitytosurf.com.au to let them know and they will provide you with available options.
BIBS, BIB COLLECTION AND POSTAGE QUESTIONS
Where and when is Bib Collection?
The Bib Collection location is at Hackett Hall located in the WA Museum Boola Bardip.
Friday 28 August: 8.00am – 6.00pm
Saturday 29 August: 8.00am – 6.00pm
Bring a copy of your e-ticker with QR code to show event staff at race bib collection.
If for any reason you are unable to attend, a friend or family member can attend on your behalf, they will require a copy of your e-ticket to collect.
Is postage available?
We currently have two postage options available – Individual ($20) and Multi-Pack Postage ($30). Please ensure you carefully read how each of these options work during the registration.
Please note: The registration deadline for both postage options is Sunday 12 July at 11:59pm (AWST). If you register after this date, you will be required to collect your bib from Bib Collection on Friday 28 or Saturday 29 August.
Can I change my Bib Collection day?
Please feel free to attend Bib Collection on either the Friday or Saturday. No changes are required for this.
Can I collect race bib’s and packs for all members of my team?
Yes! One person can collect on behalf of yourself/a team. Please ensure that they have yours/everyone’s confirmation numbers to do so.
What happens if I have lost my race bib?
If you have lost or damaged your race bib or timing chip you will need to attend Bib Collection and visit us at the Help Desk to receive a replacement.
EVENT DAY QUESTIONS
Where do the Perth courses start and finish?
The 4km course starts from McLean Park in Floreat, and the 12km course will begin on St Georges Terrace in the Perth CBD. Both courses finish on City Beach Oval, which will be transformed into a family-friendly precinct with activities, entertainment and much, much more!
What are the wave start times in Perth?
Waves for the 4km course will start from 8:00am and the 12km waves will start from 8:30am.
Please note: These times are subject to change.
Where do the Karratha courses start and finish?
Both the 4km and 12km courses start and finish at Searipple Park, Bulgarra.
What are the wave start times in Karratha?
Waves for the 4km course will start from 8:30am and the 12km waves will start from 8:00am.

What time should I arrive at the start line on event day?
It’s best if you arrive at least 30 minutes before the start of the event. That way you can use any services you require, find your start wave and have time to soak up the atmosphere of the start line.
Do I need to start in my chosen wave?
Your wave is chosen based on the time you expect to take to complete the course. We encourage you to select a finish time so you are surrounded by people of a similar pace. You must start in your assigned wave. If you start in a group ahead of yours, your timing device will not activate. Event Officials will instruct you to move to your appropriate wave.
What time does my wave start?
More accurate wave times will be provided to you closer to the event.
What do I need to do on the morning when I get to my start line?
Simply ensure you arrive 30 minutes prior to your start time and head straight to your start wave location. This will give you time to use any services you require, find your designated start wave, and enjoy the atmosphere at the start line. You will not need to check-in at the start line if you have already registered and collected your bib.
Can I attend the event if I’m not participating?
Of course! We encourage you to come along and cheer on our amazing walkers, runners and rollers on-route and also at the finish line. The finish line will be transformed into a family-friendly precinct, so join us on the day to enjoy activities, entertainment and more. You can also help out on the day by volunteering.
Can my family meet me at the finish line?
Of course! Our family-friendly Finish Line Carnival is open to all. Please ensure that your family/friends take note of our road closures, no parking restrictions, etc.
Can I bring my pet with me?
As much as we love furry friends, due to safety regulations you will not be able to bring your pet along to the Chevron City to Surf for genU. Assistance dogs are permitted.
Can I rollerblade, ride or scooter the course?
Due to safety regulations, the use of rollerblades, bikes and scooters is not permitted in the Chevron City to Surf for genU.
Can I participate if I’m pregnant?
You’re certainly more than welcome to participate while you’re pregnant. However, we would recommend that you speak to your doctor and/or a medical professional, to ensure that they’re also comfortable with your participation and the level of exertion required to undertake the course.
Can I run with headphones playing music?
There is loads of entertainment on course, so leave the headphones at home and soak up the atmosphere! There will be lots of important information from course marshals and police that you’ll need to be able to hear for your own safety and that of fellow participants. Also, even though the roads are closed there will be emergency service vehicles on course, so you’ll need to be aware of what’s going on around you.
What should I wear?
We encourage people to get crazy and creative and come in just about anything. Or you can wear your favourite running gear. Make sure your walking/running shoes fit well (and you’ve worn them before to make sure they are comfy). And bring a hat and sunscreen to slip, slop, slap.
Are there toilets at the start and finish line?
Yes, there are toilets located at both start lines and at the finish line.
Is there a charity jumper collection at the start lines?
Our volunteers will collect any discarded jumpers from the start line, and they will be donated.
Is bag drop available on the day of the event?
Bag drop is NOT available on event day. All bags need to be dropped during Bib Collection.
Is there a medal for every finisher?
We’re very pleased to confirm that all 4km and 12km participants will receive a medal when they cross the finish line on City Beach Oval.
Are there prizes for the winners?
We award prizes for the 1st place male and female of both the 4km and 12km distance.
COURSE QUESTIONS
Where can I find the course maps?
You can find the course maps for the 4km and 12km distance under their corresponding tab in the header.
Is there a time-limit to complete the course by?
You must complete the course prior to 12:30pm.
How long will it take me to complete the course?
The time it takes to complete the course depends on your pace so there is no set time that we can provide. You are in control and set you own pace!
What will I find along the course?
There is loads of entertainment on course to keep you entertained. You will also find toilets, medical and aid stations to keep you hydrated.
What electrolytes and hydration will be available?
Revvies Hydration is our Official Electrolyte Partner.
How many aid stations are available on-course?
There is one (1) Aid Station located along the 4km course and five (5) Aid Stations along the 12km course.
Will any fruit or water be provided at the finish precinct?
Yes! Fruit and water will be available as you cross the finish line.
Will there be toilets available on course?
Yes, there are toilets scattered at various points throughout the course.
I don’t think I will be able to finish the course on the day, what do I do?
If on the day, you want to exit the course and not finish please call the Event Operations team on (08) 9387 0487. As you won’t cross the finish line, you will not receive a medal or the Finish Line perks.
TRANSPORT AND PARKING QUESTIONS
Is there free public transport?
More information on available public transport will be released closer to the event.
Can I drive to the event?
We encourage participants to take public transport as it’s the quickest and easiest way of getting to the event. Please be aware that there will be road closures in and around the CBD on event day. We’ll release information on exactly which roads are closed and how long for closer to the day.
FUNDRAISING QUESTIONS
Who is the event raising money for?
As the largest annual fundraiser for genU, the Chevron City to Surf for genU will help raise vital funds to support the thousands of Western Australian’s living with disability.
Is there a minimum amount I need to fundraise?
There’s no minimum amount that you need to fundraise for the 2026 Chevron City to Surf for genU. We’re simply encouraging everyone to raise as much as they can, to help support the thousands of people living with a disability here in Western Australia.
